For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. (Hebrews 6:10 ESV)
Although we shouldn’t ‘do works’ to be noticed by God, it’s reassuring to know God sees our labor, our love and our service to the saints. He isn’t unjust so as to ignore or overlook our work done in His name.
Our acts of service and this labor of love doesn’t do anything to make us righteous. They are not making us acceptable to him. Outside of Jesus these works are worthless. They are merely religious deeds that are devoid of power to save, salvation is reserved for the blood of Jesus that cleanses us from our sins. Apart from the righteousness that was imputed to us by God, these works lack any real value.
However, as a forgiven, justified, adopted and loved child of God these acts of service and these labors of love were prepared for us to walk in before time began, and are valuable to Jesus, and will be rewarded!
